In this section I am going to go through all the reasons why tummy time is so important and how we can support our children’s development through tummy time play

Tummy time is exactly what it sounds like, time your baby spends on their tummy during play and this helps to build their core strength. 

Babies develop from top to bottom and from the inside out. What this means is they first have to develop a strong core (inside) before they can develop strength on the outside (rolling, crawling, walking)  Tummy time can help your baby reach important Developmental milestones. 

aim for 1 hour of tummy time per day by the time they are 3 months old

tummy time is essential for baby to develop the skills necessary to reach milestones. Tummy time activated the bodies core, back, neck and shoulder muscles needed to reach milestones in 

  1. Rolling
  2. Sitting
  3. Crawling
